Hi, I’m Philip Myrick—artist, teacher, and proud Marietta native. I work primarily in oil on canvas and panel, often blending in mixed media and found objects to give my work a sense of texture and unexpected depth. I love building layers, working with bold brushstrokes and waxy mediums to create pieces that feel alive and full of movement.

I studied at SCAD and the Creative Circus Portfolio School, and spent several years on the art festival circuit, meeting people and showing my work across the region. These days, I’ve found my creative home teaching Oil Painting and Life Drawing at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art—a dream come true that lets me share what I love with the community that shaped me.

Whether it’s a pet portrait, a mixed media piece, or a one-of-a-kind design project, my goal is always the same: to make something that feels meaningful, personal, and a little bit unexpected.
